3/15 - The ALL CONFERENCE 1st TEAM PICTURE(s) are here.

3/9 - Morton, the last MID-ILLINI team in the IHSA tournament, bowed out in overtime to Richwoods by the score of 56-54. Read the Peoria Journal Star article. Congrats to both teams.

All the team records are current with this final entry.

3/5 Results from the Regional at Limestone -- Morton advances to the Ottawa Sectional by beating East Peoria in the Champiosnship game 49-38.

All current as of 3/4 -- East Peoria and Morton play Friday 3/5 for regional title. All other M-I teams are fisnihed for season and records correct.

Will update the REGULAR SEASON W-L Records as they end.

Friday 2/26 - RESULTS - M-I Season Finished. Only IHSA Tournaments remain
Morton 54 At Metamora 40 - Potters Finish Season Like The Champs They Are -- Congrats!
Limestone 62 at Dunlap 48 - Limestone - Rockets Get The Automatic And 5th In The Conference
Washington 46 At East Peoria 50 - Raiders Finish Strong And 3rd In The Conference.

2/25 Finals preview

The last day of the MID-ILLINI Finals is now upon us. The win by the Potters changed the significance of two of the games. No finishing position is on the line for the Panthers or Potters. They are 2nd and 1st regardless of the game results.

Instead of the Panthers battling the Raiders to maintain a tie with the Potters, the most important element of this game is --- Will the Raiders have to share 3rd with the Little Giants?

Likewise, Instead of the Potters battling the 'birds to maintain a tie with the Panthers, the most important element of this game is --- will the 'birds share 5th with the Rockets who travel to Dunlap for an automatic?

=============================

2/26 Morton At Metamora
2/26 Limestone at Dunlap.
2/26 Washington At East Peoria

Tuesday is THE NIGHT!
The Potter game will go a long way in deciding if the title is going to be shared. Not saying it won't happen, but I have never seen Morton beat Washington in a key conference game. I didn't go the IHSA tournament last year, so I didn't see it. The 'good part' for Morton --- I am not going to this one either.

Pekin closes a long Mid-Illini season with a trip to Raiderland. This is an absolute must win for the Raiders if they hope to finish third outright by beating the Panthers on Friday night.

The recent playing style of the Rockets, if applied to the 'birds, might lead to some early departures. I look for this to be a closely called and official controlled game. Tick-tack fouls will be called from the tip-off to make sure everyone knows who is running this game. A 'bird win will put them in a tie at 5-8 with the Rockets for 5th. The 'bird problem is the Potters come to town on Friday and the Rockets travel to Dunlap so the 5th place tie may be short lived.

Friday night is going to be a keep what you got on Tuesday.
Limestone will get a win at Dunlap which should secure them 5th place.

The next two games are possible spoilers.
This game is on 'bird ground and may be tough for the Potters to get up for -- following a win or a loss Tuesday night in the Den.

The Panthers will roll in tied with Morton for the league lead and will be sky high. The Raiders will be playing for an outright third place. They will have a tie for third with the Little Giants secured following the Tuesday win over the Dragons.

2/18 Friday Results.

Canton made the trip to Metamora and left with an 8-6 Mid-Illini conference record after posting a 49-44 victory over the 'birds who are now 4-8 in the conference.

East Peoria stays in the hunt for third with Canton by taking care of business at Dunlap 50-30. East Peoria at 7-5 hosts Pekin Tuesday night and should move to 8-5. The Raiders finish conference play with the Panthers. I see a tie for third with Canton at 8-6 for the Raiders.

The Panthers traveled to the Hawk House, which must seem like a second home court, and extended the Dragon long season by beating them 47-38 to setup the HEAD-TO-HEAD game of the season on Tuesday night with the Potters in the Den.

The Potters don't skip a beat and the Rockets continue to self destruct. Ts will put you deep in the hole even if you are a good team playing good ball. The Potters are 11-1 heading into the Tuesday night game of the year in the Panther Den. The Rockets might make it to 7-7 if they can take the automatic against Dunlap and get things going right in the 'bird meeting. I think they are going to be lucky get a win over the Eagles, let alone beat the 'birds.

2/16 Looking at Friday.

All the Mid--Illini action takes place on Friday night and NO HEAD-TO-HEAD games are on tap that can change conference position between the two team playing each other. This Friday looks like a good night to catch a movie for excitement as I don't see any in the conference. I am going early to the Panther Dragon sophomore game and then home by 6:30.

East Peoria takes a 6-5 record to Dunlap and will leave at 7-5.

Likewise, the Panther trip into the Hawk House will be uneventful and they will leave with a 10-2 record. The Dragons will be 4-9 when the night is over with only East Peoria left to play who will greet them with a 7-5 next Tuesday in RaiderLand.

The Rockets still seem to be misfiring and will not present any problem to the host Potters who will move to 11-1. With the loss, the Rockets will have to beat Dunlap and Metamora to finish at 500 in the conference. The Metamora game plays on Tuesday.

Canton travels to Metamora and will leave at 8-6 and will have completed conference play. The 2A regional starts a week earlier then the 3/4A regionals. The Little Giants, even with the recent double overtime loss to the league leading Potters, continue to show the most improvement this season. Too bad the Rams and Little Giants have to meet so early in the tournament.

Look for the Mid-Illini standing page updates following the games.

2/12 Results

Season records are correct as of the END of Friday games. Only Corrected following conference action.

East Peoria (6-5) keeps Metamora (4-7) from moving into a three way tie for fourth and now have fourth place by a one game lead over the Rockets (5-6)who were downed by the Panthers (9-2) in a no contest game by the score of 50-36. 8-6 looks possible for the Raiders which will put them in a tie for 3rd with the Little Giants who will close the conference season with a win over the Eagles.

The Little Giants (7-6) continue to impress even with a double overtime 3 point loss to the league leading Potters (10-1) in the the Potterdome.

And lastly, the Eagles (1-11) failed to double the Dragons (4-8) at the Hawk House. The Dragons trail the 6th place 'birds by only a game on the loss side but have challenging games with the Raiders and the Panthers to end conference play. The 'birds have the Little Giants, Potters, and Rockets. I see the Dragons finishing at 4-10 and the 'birds also at 4-10 or 5-11 if the Rockets continue to missfire.

2/10 Results

The Little Giants (7-5 16-6) may have been thinking about the upcoming trip to Morton as the first quarter score had them behind 16-15. By half time it was 40-34. The final score had Canton 83 and Dunlap 61.

On 2/8 I said ...
2/9 Dunlap at Canton. Canton has played themselves into 3rd and I don't see them giving it away now. The only risk for Canton is looking to the game at Morton on Friday instead of taking care of business.

2/12 Games.
Dunlap at Pekin. The Eagles got their first and only win at home against the Dragons but I don't expect them to make it a double and the Dragons can move to 4-8. Nice game between the sophomore and varsity game between some players who will be grinning from ear to ear regardless of the score. Make all the noise you can make for these players.

Canton at Morton. The Potters are going to move one step closer to a Mid-Illini title with a 10-1 record after this game. Canton will still have hold of third at 7-6 following the loss and early week win against Dunlap.

Limestone at Washington. Something must not have been firing on all cylinders last week against Canton. So the question is, will the Rockets get it fixed and will the Panthers return to full strength. If the Panthers are strong they will go to 9-2 and the Rockets, even with it fixed, will have a long ride home at 5-6.

Metamora at East Peoria. THIS IS THE HEAD-TO-HEAD GAME for position. The 'birds with a win, coupled with the Panthers taking care of the Rockets, can move into a three way tie for fourth at 5-6. The Raiders will certainly be doing some sole searching this week after an extended locker room discussion following the Potter game. I think the Raiders will make the needed adjustments and be all alone in 4th after this weekend at 6-5.

=================================

2/6 game results.
East Peoria 53 at Morton 62 -- I left at half time. Will have pictures before Super Bowl Sunday kickoff.

Pekin 47 at Metamora 41 -- Guess the 'birds didn't stay alert in their own house. Pekin is now a game and half behind Metamora who is in 6th. Pekin closes with Dunlap, East Peoria and Washington while the 'birds close with Morton, East Peoria, Canton and Limestone. I can see a tie for the Dragons and 'birds.

Washington 53 at Dunlap 44 -- As expected.

Canton 61 at Limestone 57 -- I was thinking the Rockets would get this one. The Little Giants have done an excellent job in taking charge of their fate in the last several weeks. The Little Giants are now a half game AHEAD of East Peoria for third. East Peoria and Limestone are tied for fourth with identical 5-5 records.

2/5 - Saturday night games.
First place Morton entertains the Raiders in the PotterDome. Should be an interesting night.

Top contender Washington travels to struggling Dunalp. Every Panther should see action.

Canton with 5 wins and the Rockets also with 5 wins play the only head-to-head game that will change the standing. The previous game at Ms. Alice went to the Little Giants when they only had to defend against one Rocket. I have to decide between this game and a PotterDome visit.

The 2 win Dragons go to the 'birds who can go to 500 if they stay alert. All four of the 'bird conference games after this weekend are with teams currently above them in the standings which makes them in charge of their own fate.

Results and standings will be updated by Sunday morning.

2/2 - Potters go to 8-1 with a 47-39 win over the Dragons and move into first place all alone because the Little Giants played like Giants in the Panther Den and defeated the Panthers 50-49. Limestone moved into a tie with East Peoria for third by defeating the visiting Raiders 63-50. Metamora is now only one game from being 500 in the conference after downing the struggling Eagles 44-36.
Potter Dragon Picture are HERE. Kewl part - 1st cousin against 1st cousin.

=========================
1/31- Updated Season Records. -- Correct as of 1/31

1/29 -Raiders struggle with Little Giants before winning 55-51. After much Brown forum talk the Panthers let the Redbirds score 20 in the 4th to tie and then 9 in OT for a 59-56 upset win. Dragons continue deeper into the depths of the abyss with no indications of recovery. The Rocket win over the sinking Dragons pulls them to 500 in the conference. Dunlap and Morton did not play conference games Friday night. . Read additional accounts and share your views at this forum. But BEWARE... of the forum.
